ABOUT ACUPUNCTURE
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to promote healing and balance. The underlying theory is that the needles stimulate the flow of energy or "qi" along pathways or "meridians" in the body, which can become blocked or imbalanced, leading to various health problems. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide range of conditions, including pain, stress, anxiety, and digestive issues. Modern research suggests that acupuncture may work by releasing natural painkillers, reducing inflammation, and affecting the nervous system.
Acupuncture techniques yield many benefits, including but not limited to:
-
Reducing stress and relaxing the body
-
Relieving chronic back and joint pain
-
Alleviating symptoms of chronic illness
-
Calming the body’s nervous system
-
Soothing pain from headaches and migraines
